Business Community Booklet
The booklet outlines the objectives of Work Related Learning. It explains a variety of Work Related Learning terminology and possible strategies to implement wRL links. It has a number ogf possible support organisations that schools could use to develop WRL links. The booklet is useful as a WRL Department Handbook

A investment competition aimed at Year 12 students who want to take a risk. It starts in October 2009 and requires £1500 to actually invest in the stock market. I entered this year and the competition ended in June 2009. Schools are well supported with advice from the company and students are motivated by actually investing for real. Sponsorships of £750 are available. My school finished in 32nd place out of 50 teams entered and after costs were added made £120. To find out more and register go to WWW.shares4schools.com

Dragons Den Competition
A Dragons Den competition aimed at Year 12 Business Studies students was run successfully at St Laurence school in February 2009. Four schools took part and eight teams gave presentations.The competition will be an annual event and schools are invited to take part in the next Dragons Den at St Laurence in March 2010.
